Eligibility Criteria

IBPS PO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Candidates must be:

  • A citizen of India, or

  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or

  • A Tibetan Refugee (who came to India before 1 January 1962), or

  • A person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.


Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 Years

  • Maximum Age: 30 Years

Candidates should be born between: 02 July 1996 and 01 July 2006 (both dates inclusive).


Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

  • The final result/degree must be declared on or before the prescribed eligibility date.

  • Candidates with CGPA/OGPA must convert it into percentage as per their university norms while filling the application form.

Selection Process

The IBPS PO 2026 selection process consists of the following stages:


📖 1. Preliminary Examination

Online Objective Test Qualifying in nature, candidates who clear the cutoff will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

 🧠 2. Main Examination

Objective + Descriptive Test Marks obtained in the Main Exam are considered for the final merit list.


🗣️ 3. Interview

Candidates shortlisted after the Main Exam will be called for the Interview. Interview carries 20% weightage in the final selection.
