CMR - National Institute of NCD Epidemiology (ICMR-NINE), Bengaluru has issued an official recruitment notification for the post of Junior Hindi Translator purely on a short-term contract basis. Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 50,000/- for an initial engagement period of one year.
ICMR NINE Recruitment 2026 Overview
The recruitment drive aims to fill one vacant post through email application followed by a written test and personal interview at the Bengaluru campus.
Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Applicants must satisfy the educational qualifications and age criteria specified by the council as of the application cut-off date.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must hold one of the following postgraduate qualifications from a recognized university:
- Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory/elective subject or medium of examination at degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or medium of examination at degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi/English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject at degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi/English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject at degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in any subject with both Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or medium of examination.
Additional Requirement: A recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa, OR two years of translation experience in Central/State Government offices or PSUs. Practical proficiency in computers (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, typing, and internet) is desirable.
Age Limit
The age limit for the post is 18 to 35 years. Age is reckoned as on the date of the written examination / interview. Upper age relaxations apply as per Government of India rules.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Junior Hindi Translator will be responsible for supporting official language implementation at ICMR-NINE:
- Ensuring strict compliance with the Official Language Policy of the Union of India.
- Translating circulars, manuals, forms, and articles from English to Hindi and vice versa.
- Translating daily official correspondence, departmental orders, and office orders.
- Drafting official notes and letters in Hindi using computer systems.
- Assisting the official Hindi Committee with various promotional activities.
